Packed & Ready

Here's what I'm taking for 2 months.  Neither bag is filled to capacity, I'm proud of myself:)

6.5 hours until our plane takes off...I'll see you in India!

Excited and Hungry!

Ok. Last day of work was today and I don't think I could be more excited for this trip!  One of the things I'm most excited about is the food. I  LOVE food!  And I'm super lucky to live in Toronto where the variety and quality of cuisines is (in my opinion) one of the best in the world.   I suppose it goes without saying that Indian food has to be one of my favourites; it's so rich, vibrant, colourful and, well filling!

I've been to a bunch of Indian places in the city and am rarely disappointed, however, my favourite is definitely "India Palace" on Queen West.   Great service, cozy atmosphere, and of course, great food.  I always compare other Indian spots to this one, and I know I'll be comparing the food in India to this place as well!  I'm curious to know how alike Toronto's Indian food is to India's.
I've formed a relatively uninformed and biased opinion that Eastern dishes in the West are not the same as Eastern dishes in the East.  I will keep you posted on my hypothesis.

As part of my preparation for this trip I've been upping my intake of curries and kormas.  Check out yesterday's lunch:

Found out today that I will be one of TWO people signed up for teacher training @ the neo yoga centre in May!
Not sure yet if that is awesome or a bummer...
I may consider other schools if something else is available.

The Countdown

Only 3 weeks to go and I think I'm ready, just need to get my backpack out of the storage, fill my prescription for Malaria pills and probably make one more trip to MEC for some last minute things (i.e. toilet paper, my trip to Tanzania made me realize the value in having this around...)  Oh, and book a flight from Delhi to Dharmasala since arranging train travel in India from Canada is so frustratingly difficult!

I am so excited!  Excited and impatient; 3 weeks seems like a moment and a lifetime away.  I can't wait to share my experiences and photos here for everyone.  This is really my first blogger experience so I hope you enjoy!  I will post as often as I can.
